Overview

We're in search of an outstanding Medical Director. This leadership role is responsible for the organization, supervision, and implementation of treatment services at the Woodbourne Center, maintaining a quality of treatment consistent with the philosophy and standards of the Woodbourne Center and the standards set by regulating agencies. Utilize quality principles to monitor and assess delivery of services, development of new programs, compliance with regulatory requirements, and client satisfaction. Direct the medical and nursing activities consistent with State, local, federal, Joint Commission, and other regulatory and contracting agency requirements

Responsibilities

Summary:

Direct the development, implementation, and maintenance of treatment services, ensuring the overall the quality of care provided meets standards set by Woodbourne Center treatment facility in conjunction with relevant governing bodies. Oversee the staffing, training, development, and performance management of clinical staff, ensuring competent and quality treatment services are provided to the clients and families of the Woodbourne Center treatment facility. Coordinate activities and integrate services by working closely with other departments to provide comprehensive services. Ensure that documentation is made for all clinical examinations, including the psychiatric examination and progress notes. Guide the treatment team and implement the treatment plan for each client for whom the Medical Director is the treating psychiatrist. Respond to emergencies in the absence of staff psychiatrists assigned to the case. Participate in staff and supervision meetings, and required Woodbourne Center in-service meetings. Understand and support the Woodbourne Center and Nexus philosophy and mission.

Qualifications

Must currently have: M.D. degree and Board-eligible in Child Psychiatry, Board-certified preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience treating adolescent psychiatric disorders and 3 years’ experience as a supervisor. Must remain current on all required training and certifications.
