Overview

Provide leadership to direct care staff through effective communication, organization and planning of the daily operations of the program/unit.

Responsibilities

1.  Provide structure and supervision of the daily operations of the program/unit to ensure successful coordination and implementation of each resident’s daily treatment services.

 

2.  Participate as a multi-disciplinary team member in developing and implementing resident treatment plans and strategies.

 

 

3.  Assist the Clinical Supervisor in the selection, training, ongoing professional development and performance evaluation of staff/team members.

 

 

4.  Manage and monitor the program milieu and collaborate with coworkers to ensure an emotionally and physically safe environment for residents and one that is also positive, respectful, clean and therapeutic.

 

 

5.  Perform other job and work-related responsibilities, tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications

 

Education, Credentials and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a social work, psychology or clinically-related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years job related experience in adolescent counseling and/or residential treatment program experience required, plus 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Illinois employees must meet the Medicaid qualification for an MHP in addition to the above requirements.

 

Physical Demands

 

  • Must be able to assist staff in proper restraining of residents.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100+ pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours).
  • Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities within the residential program.
